* The Office of Student Involvement will host three candidates for assistant director of Student Involvement in the next two weeks. You're invited to hear a formal presentation by the first candidate, Gabriel Fonseca from Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas, from 10:30-11:15 a.m. today (Thursday, Dec. 7) in 265 RSC. * The Department of Human Performance Studies will hold its 14th Annual Chili Cook-off and Student Appreciation Day at 11:30 a.m. today (Thursday, Dec. 7) in the Heskett Center lobby. If you want to taste the chili, bring a canned food item (or $2) which will be donated to the Kansas Food Bank.

* Join us in celebrating Michael Palmiotto's retirement from 2-4 p.m. today (Thursday, Dec. 7) in 266 RSC. Palmiotto is a professor in the School of Community Affairs.

* WSU Foundation -- The week of Dec. 25, requisitions are due by noon Wednesday, Dec. 27, and checks will be released on Friday, Dec. 29. The week of Jan. 1, requisitions are due by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, and checks will be released on Friday, Jan. 5. * Applications for the John A. See Innovation Award will be accepted now to Thursday, Feb. 1. The award was established in December 2013 by John A. See to support prototype development, which may include development of products in engineering and science, development of life-enhancing therapeutic products, creation or application of new knowledge and artistic ventures. * The 2017 Fall Commencement ceremony will be held Sunday, Dec. 17. The Commencement Office is looking for individuals who are available to work from about noon-5 p.m. that day. * KPERS 457 Deferred Compensation Plan is a voluntary, supplemental, retirement account open to all WSU employees. KPERS 457 will host in-person seminars at WSU about the Fundamentals of Investing on Friday, Dec. 8, and online webinars Monday, Dec. 11-Thursday, Dec. 14. Their presentation will include information on how to keep your investment portfolio on track.
