Reminders, deadlines, events and Shocker Blast
* Faculty and staff are invited to a retirement party for Don Malzahn from 5-6 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 8) in the Santa Fe Room, RSC. Malzahn, professor of Industrial, Systems and Manufacturing Engineering, has served Wichita State for 44 years.
* The Registrar's Office will be closed from 11:15 a.m.-1:30 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 8) for staff development.
* Accounts Receivable and Cashiers will be closed for staff development from 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 8).
* Final grading for fall 2017 courses is open. Faculty can access the Banner 9 grading form via the Teach / Advise tab in the myWSU portal. Grades for any fall course can be entered during this grading period. Grades are due by 10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19. A grading email with more details was sent to faculty and staff who are flagged as eligible instructors in Banner. Questions about grading can be directed to the Office of the Registrar at 978-3090.
* Stop by and visit our first GoBabyGo Holiday Tune-up from 1-3 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, Dec. 9) in the second floor Heskett Center gym. It's free and open to the public. Event details are available at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?6084.
* An information session about Wichita State's Transition to Teaching program will be held from 2-3 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, Dec. 9) in 156C Corbin Education Center. This session will provide college graduates who are interested in becoming middle or high school teachers information about alternative certification in Kansas and specifics about the WSU program. If you are interested in attending, cannot attend but are interested in the program, or if you have any questions, email T2T.info@wichita.edu.
* Blackboard will be upgraded on Dec. 27-28. It will be offline during this time. Please wait until after Thursday, Dec. 28, to import or copy any existing content into your spring classes to avoid unnecessary technical difficulties.
