Reminders, deadlines and events

* If you have news and information to share via the Shocker Blast email newsletter, the deadline for the last edition of the semester on Friday, Dec. 15, is noon Thursday, Dec. 14. Shocker Blast will be on break for the holidays and resume Friday, Jan. 12, before spring semester classes start on Tuesday, Jan. 16. Submit news and information for consideration to shockerblast@wichita.edu.

* Shuttle buses will run during finals through tomorrow (Thursday, Dec. 14) before stopping for the holiday season. Shuttle bus service will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

* The Housing & Residence Life (HRL) Central Office will be closed from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, Dec. 14) for a holiday event. Staff will continue to be available at the front desks of both Shocker Hall and The Flats at WSU to assist student inquiries as needed.

* Are you passionate about mental health? Mind Matters works to destigmatize mental health. Join the Mind Matters Spring 2018 executive team by applying for the open treasurer position. To apply, request an application at MindMattersWSU@gmail.com. Applications are due by Friday, Dec. 15.

* Undergraduate researchers from all disciplines are encouraged to submit an application for the annual Kansas Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol poster symposium on Wednesday, Feb. 14, in Topeka. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/dayatcapitol for the submission form.

* Still need some awesome gifts for friends and family? Get some great items at the Campus Recreation ProShop in the Heskett Center. Favorites include a stainless steel water bottle for $12 and men's and women's pullovers for $25.

* Wichita State students who love being Shockers and want to help recruit new students are invited to apply to become Shocker Navigators. Interested students should log in to Handshake through the Career Development Center and complete the application by Sunday, Dec. 31. Questions? * WSU will hold its fall ceremony of the 120th commencement at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, in Charles Koch Arena. The ceremony will be available via webcast at about 2:25 p.m. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/commencement and click on "Live Commencement Streaming."
