Wichita Women in Health Professions to host human trafficking awareness event

January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month and to raise awareness about human trafficking, the Wichita Women in Health Professions (WWHP) is hosting an event from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, at the KU School of Medicine-Wichita in the Sunflower Room.
The event includes a panel discussion by representatives from Wichita State University Center for Combating Human Trafficking, Forensic Nursing Services Via Christi Hospitals Wichita Inc., Hope Ranch for Women and the Wichita Family Crisis Center. They will share local initiatives to help identify and prevent human trafficking.
