Reminders, deadlines and events
* The Rhatigan Student Center and its departments will close early at 2:30 p.m. today (Thursday, Dec. 21) for staff development. The RSC will reopen at 7 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22. For hours of operation, go to http://www.wichita.edu/rschours
* The RSC and some departments will be open for pre-game for the basketball game against Florida Gulf Coast tomorrow (Friday, Dec. 22). Stop by before the game to grab a bite to eat at Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes, Chick-Fil-A or Mondo Subs, or shop the Bookstore's Buzzer Beater Sale to get a great deal on Shocker gear. * The RSC and some departments will be open various times during winter break. The bookstore will be open limited hours every day except for Dec. 24-25, and Dec. 31-Jan. 1. Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes is open through Friday, Dec. 22, and then will be closed except from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, to televise the Shockers' away basketball game. * Join Marshallville in giving back to the Wichita community by donating shoes tomorrow (Friday, Dec. 22) to the Wichita Children's Home. All shoe sizes will be accepted. Bring them to Marshallville (on the throwing field south of Koch Arena) before the men's basketball game against Florida Gulf Coast University. The Marshallville team will collect the shoes from 3-6 p.m. Contact Marshallville at marshallville@wichita.edu if you have questions or want to arrange another time to drop off some shoes for the Wichita Children's Home.
* All gift deposits for calendar 2017 must be delivered to the WSU Foundation by 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, so we can properly credit our donors. Please be sure to attach the envelope to each gift so that we can verify the 2017 postmark date. If you have questions, contact Amy Houpt at 978-5191.
* The nomination deadline for Excellence Awards in Research, Creativity and Community Research has been extended to 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5. See the RTT website at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?6108 for additional details and nomination forms.
* An open lab will be offered for those involved in editing / approving the academic sections of the upcoming catalog. This come-and-go training from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, in 124 Jabara Hall, is a hands-on opportunity to have questions answered. A short introduction to the software will take place during the first 30 minutes of the session. Registration is not required. If you have questions, contact lisa.fleetwood@wichita.edu. A similar session will be held from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, in 124 Jabara Hall.
