Honors College seeks an associate dean

The Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College seeks an associate dean (.5) to serve as an academic leader and liaison across campus and to the broader Wichita community, regional and national honors communities.

Honors is a multidisciplinary academic program offering curriculum for motivated undergraduate students in all majors, empowering a diverse student community and collaborating across campus to increase student research and service-learning opportunities.
The unit serves more than 600 students in 90-plus majors and currently offers 10 college honors seminars and 40 department honors courses per year.

Reporting directly to the dean, the associate dean will work with faculty and staff to create enhanced educational experiences for the university's most aspirational students and encourage faculty to experiment with course design and co-curricular activities for Honors students; will contribute to increasing Honors course offerings, including department honors courses and tracks, and to increasing undergraduate research and creative activity for all students across campus; will assist with all Honors College initiatives, as needed, including student retention initiatives, recruitment and scholarship award competitions, the summer research institute for high school and/or community college students, leadership academy, academic program review, and course schedule production; will identify needs and opportunities for Honors development; and will serve on college and university committees as needed. Additional responsibilities will be based on experience.
