Wichita State to name three Gore Scholars tomorrow (Thursday, Jan. 25)

Three high school seniors will be introduced as recipients of the Harry Gore Memorial $60,000 scholarship at Wichita State University, one of the largest undergraduate awards in Kansas, at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday, Jan. 25) in the Marcus Welcome Center. The media are invited to attend.

The winners were selected from 620 students who participated in the Distinguished Scholarship Invitational. The 11 finalists this year have an average ACT score of 27 and average GPA of 3.87.

The 11 finalists are:
- Masara Al-Sharieh, Annoor Islamic School
- Hailey Colborn, Wichita High School Northwest
- Kevin Dao, Wichita High School Southeast
- Kendal Davis, Wichita Northeast Magnet
- Christian Hernandez, Southwestern Heights High School
- Riley Jackson, Blue Springs South High School, Missouri
- Andrew Mullen, Sedgwick High School
- Divya Natesan, Wichita High School East
- Jillian Newfield, Union High School, Oklahoma
- Madeline Smith, Mount St. Mary High School, Oklahoma
- Sydney Wyatt, Cherokee High School, Oklahoma

All finalists will receive competitive scholarship packages to attend WSU in the fall of 2018.
