Reminders, deadlines and events

* Overnight this Wednesday, Jan. 31, Information Technology Services will upgrade the university's voicemail system. The upgrade resets all of the PINs used to access voicemail, so a temporary PIN will be set on each mailbox. You and/or your department should have received an email listing your temporary PIN. If you haven't seen that email, please check your junk folder, then talk to the person in your department responsible for telephone billing. If the billing contact doesn't have a PIN for you, he or she should email telecomservices@wichita.edu and we'll get the information to you. WSU support will never ask you for your voicemail PIN. If you need assistance, we'll confirm your identity and then reset your PIN for you. If someone contacts you asking for your PIN, they're a scammer; please don't speak with them further.

* The Rocky Mountain Regional U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), in collaboration with partners located across the Rocky Mountain region, hosts quarterly interactive sessions with experts from the USPTO's Trademark Assistance Center (TAC), which is based at USPTO Headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia. Trademark Tuesday will be held from 12:30-2 p.m. today (Tuesday, Jan. 30) in 217 Ablah Library. RSVP at http://ow.ly/sYjI30hTj08

* The Fire and Safety Department will conduct fire alarm tests across campus between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. through Wednesday, Jan. 31. During the test, the fire alarm will sound briefly from five to 15 seconds. This is only a test of the system. If the alarm goes longer than this test time or at any time not during the designated test time, treat the alarm as a real alarm and evacuate the building.
