* The Office of Diversity and Inclusion is celebrating 10 years recognizing phenomenal women at Wichita State. Individuals are encouraged to nominate females who have made a difference in their lives. To be eligible, the Phenomenal Women nominees are employees, students, faculty or staff of WSU. * A Conflicts of Interest & Time Commitments research workshop will be held from noon-1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, in 405 Jardine Hall. This is a brown bag workshop, so bring your lunch. Tea, water and dessert will be provided. Registration is required though myTraining.

* In honor of the upcoming Winter Olympic Games, join Council of University Women (CUW) for a fun, hands-on Asian cooking experience from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, in 233 RSC. Tickets are $18 for CUW members and $23 for nonmembers. The first 50 to buy tickets will receive a WSU bamboo mixing spoon and recipe card. This cooking experience will include shrimp or chicken spring rolls, Asian slaw and dipping sauces served with pineapple and tangerine petite cake and mandarin punch. * The Regional Institute on Aging funds a small number of grants for faculty. The primary purpose of this grant program is to assist faculty members in their scholarly and/or creative activities as it pertains to aging research. Go to http://wsuria.org/applyhere/ for more information.

* You're invited to attend the WSU Opera Theater presentation of "Scenes and Songs" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, in Wiedemann Hall. Admission is free.

* Are you interested in leadership development of yourself and your students? We are calling for five squad leaders for the 2018 Summer Leadership Institute (SLI). The five-day overnight event will take place Monday-Friday, May 14-18, at Camp Wood in Elmdale, Kansas. Our focus is to guide our students through leadership curriculum and skill development. * Performances by four young artists will be featured in the annual Concerto-Aria Concert by the WSU Symphony Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, in Miller Concert Hall.
