Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol features five students
Students include:
Fayez Alruwaili, senior in biomedical engineering, who will present "Heart-Ventricular Blood Volume Assessment Using Non-Invasive Skin Patch Sensor." Alruwaili's faculty mentor is Kim Cluff, assistant professor of biomedical engineering.
David Elzinga, senior in biological sciences, and Shelby Stowe, senior in biological sciences at Sterling College, who will co-present "Modeling Control Method Combinations to Manage the Sylvatic Plague in Black-Tailed Prairie Dog Towns." Elzinga and Stowe's faculty mentor is Leland Russell, associate professor in biological sciences at WSU.
Louis Gomez, senior in biomedical engineering, who will present "Implementation of Artificial Neural Network on EEG Signals for Classification." Gomez's faculty mentor is Jaydip Desai, assistant professor in biomedical engineering.
Abdul-Mannaan Giles, senior in medical laboratory sciences, who will present "Aerobic Exercise Sustains Performance of Instrumental Activities of Daily Living in Early-stage Alzheimer's." Giles' faculty mentor is Diana Cochran-Black, chair and associate professor of medical laboratory sciences.
Henry Postoak, senior in Spanish, who will present "Local Identity and the Language of Craft Beer." Postoak's faculty mentor is Mythili Menon, assistant professor of English and linguistics.
