WSU's School of Performing Arts presents the musical 'I Love You Because'

Wichita State's School of Performing Arts invites you to join them for "I Love You Because" at 7:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 14) to Saturday, Feb. 17, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, in Welsbacher Theatre, Hughes Metropolitan Complex. This modern romantic-comedy, inspired by Jane Austin's "Pride and Prejudice," is set in New York City. A young, uptight greeting card writer's life is changed when he meets a flighty photographer. Along with their eccentric friends and siblings, they learn to love each other not in spite of their faults, but because of them.

The cast includes student performers Katie Robu, Jackson Dorris, Brittnee Hill, Lucas Lowry, Gabbe Meloccaro and Philip Hanson.

"I Love You Because" is directed by musical theatre student Lance McDougall, with music direction by College of Fine Arts alum Matthew Hale and choreography by School of Performing Arts alum Gabrielle Ejibe. The production design team includes theatre student designers Jemimah McPeek (lighting), Makenzie Hercules (costumes), Caiden McCullough (sound), and Associate Professor David Neville (scenic), with Stage Management by theatre student Mariah Clements.
