Debate team to compete in District III qualification tournament

After a successful regular season, the WSU debate squad is preparing for national competition to conclude the season. WSU Debate will compete at the District III qualification tournament this weekend in Edmond, Oklahoma. The top 13 finishers will earn a bid to the National Debate Tournament in March.

The debate team has won three tournaments and numerous speaker awards. They consistently finish as one of the higher-ranked teams at every tournament they attend. According to college debate ratings, WSU's top team of Jamie Welch and Daniel Saunders are rated the 30th overall team in the country out of hundreds competing.
