Reminders, deadlines and events

* Area businesses are invited to attend the first WSU Business Issues & Challenges seminar focused on Cyber Security from 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, in 264 Experiential Engineering Building. WSU's Cyber Security and Forensics Research Group will discuss how to avoid and detect a security breach, starting with an assessment of your organization's current tools and protocol. The seminar, an initiative of WSU Ventures, is the first in a quarterly series aimed at highlighting university capabilities that can benefit industry.

* Stop by the Rhatigan Student Center every Wednesday for the live music series, RSC Unplugged. Sterling Gray will perform from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 28) in the RSC's Starbucks Lounge.

* An African-style Cirque du Soleil, Cirque Zuma Zuma will feature an array of never before seen talent mixed with the traditional acts associated with African variety arts. Come and experience this once-in-a-lifetime performance at 6 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 28) in the CAC Theater. Admission is $3 faculty/staff and Innovation Campus employees.

* The men's basketball team concludes its regular-season schedule by hosting Cincinnati at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 4, in Charles Koch Arena. For tickets, call 978-FANS (3267).

* The WSU baseball team will host the University of Nebraska this weekend at 3 p.m. Friday, March 2; 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3; and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at Eck Stadium. The Shockers will also host SIU-Edwardsville at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 6. For tickets, call 978-FANS (3267).

* The FedEx drop box located at the Airbus Building has been removed by FedEx because of a lack of use. Departments must bring an outgoing FedEx to Morrison Hall, or if after hours, take them to a FedEx drop-off location.

* Student Activities Council (SAC) will host world-touring DEA agents Steve Murphy and Javier Pena for "Narcos: The DEA Agents That Captured Pablo Escobar," at 7 p.m. Friday, March 9, in the Hughes Metropolitan Complex. The event will feature speakers Steve Murphy and Javier Pena around whom the hit Netflix original series "Narcos" is based. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Seating is general admission. * Savings for Wichita State Innovation Campus employees are being offered for Disney on Ice at 7 p.m. Friday, March 23; 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, March 24; and 1 and 5 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at Intrust Bank Arena.
