Reminders, deadlines and events

* Cadman proudly presents a "Color Your Music" event from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today (Monday, March 5) at The Cadman Art Gallery in the RSC. We want to know what flashes through your mind when you listen to your favorite song. It could be just a name to a masterpiece, but colorful. Gather your friends, come listen to some favorite music and draw. You also might win a prize!

* The Career Development Center is excited to host Major Meet-Up from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, in 142 RSC. If you have no idea what you want to major in or are still deciding between a few, Major Meet-Up will help you find some direction. * The WSU Parking Quiz is now available at http://www.wichita.edu/parkingquiz. This quiz covers the WSU Parking Rules and Regulations and is designed to provide information about commonly misunderstood parking policies. Those who receive a citation may be able to have the citation forgiven in exchange for completing the quiz (with the exception of citations for Parking in Reserved or Handicap Parking). Please note: This will only affect citations issued on or after March 1, 2018.

* The Graduate School Professional Development Series presents "The Struggle Is Real: How to Handle Your Classroom Like a Pro," from noon-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, in 142 Harvest Room. Lunch will be provided for the first 30 who attend.

* Stop by the Silent Auction on Wednesday, March 7, to benefit Alternative Spring Break 2018 and bid on gift cards, tickets and great items from local businesses. Walk by the tables in the Rhatigan Student Center between 11 a.m. and 12:59 p.m., and write your name and contact information along with a bid. At 1 p.m. the highest bidders will be contacted to pay for and pick up their items within 24 hours.

* The English Department is hosting "Applying to Graduate School" at 3 p.m. Friday, March 9, in 100 Lindquist Hall. The event is for students who are interested in pursuing an advanced degree in English -- composition and rhetoric, literature, linguistics or creative writing.

* SAC will host world-touring DEA agents Steve Murphy and Javier Pena for "Narcos: The DEA Agents That Captured Pablo Escobar," at 7 p.m. Friday, March 9, in Hughes Metropolitan Complex. The event will feature speakers Steve Murphy and Javier Pena around whom the hit Netflix original series "Narcos" is based. Seating is general admission. * Do you have a passion for photography? Enter the Cadman Art Gallery's 36th Annual Exposure photography competition where students can submit up to six entries in the following categories: Black & White Digital, Digital Manipulation, Color, Digital, or Processed film by Friday, March 9. Style and presentation are up to you from a camera phone to a DSLR and beyond.
