Reminders, deadlines and events

* Study to address pedestrian safety concerns -- Eric King, associate vice president for facilities planning, says the university has entered into an agreement for services with Traffic Engineering Consultants, who in collaboration with MKEC Engineering, will conduct the study. * Join the Media Resources Center teams -- Campus Media Services, Instructional Design and Access, Video Services and Web Services -- for a lunch-and-learn presentation and discussion of our latest news and offerings. * The shuttle buses will not run now (Monday, March 19) to Friday, March 23, because of spring break. The normal shuttle bus schedule will resume on Monday, March 26.

* The President's Distinguished Service Awards and the unclassified professionals' Wayne Carlisle Distinguished Service Award will be presented during the Shocker Pride Celebration Wednesday, April 11, in the Shirley Beggs Ballroom, third floor, RSC. There will be a reception to meet and greet the honorees at 3 p.m., followed by the awards presentation at 3:30 p.m. Please respond to the Shocker Pride Celebration invitation and confirm attendance by Wednesday, April 4, at http://www.wichita.edu/shockerpridersvp

* Student Activities Council is recruiting organizations to participate in the Spring 2018 Finals Frenzy Week from Monday, April 30 to Saturday, May 5. Finals Frenzy takes place each semester during finals week in hopes to reduce stress through educational and entertaining programs. If you are interested in hosting an event this spring or finding out more information about Finals Frenzy, complete the registration form at http://www.wichita.edu/FinalsFrenzy by 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 4.

* LEAD Conference is a regional leadership drive-in conference that is being held on June 6. This year, LEAD Conference is looking for individuals who are passionate about leadership development to facilitate a workshop session, provide a presentation, or give a TED-Talk style presentation on a leadership topic that's relevant to faculty, staff and students. Proposals will be accepted until Sunday, April 1, so submit one today. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/LEADconference2018

* The University Bookstore is now taking orders for faculty and staff who need regalia for the spring 2018 Commencement. The deadline for renting regalia is 4 p.m. Friday, April 6. Call Julie at 978-7021 or email bookstore@wichita.edu to place your order or if you have questions. You may also come by the bookstore between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Payment is due at the time you place your order. Orders placed after the deadline will incur additional shipping and handling charges.
