Student Health Services will have a limited supply of vaccine for seasonal influenza beginning Monday, Sept. 21. Student Health anticipates receiving additional doses soon. Flu shots are available from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 9-11:30 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. Wednesday; and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday. The cost is $20 for staff/faculty and $10 for students. If you bring in two nonperishable food items for the Kansas Food Bank, Student Health will reduce the fee by $5. Remember, this seasonal vaccine does not protect you against the H1N1 (swine) influenza.
The vaccine for H1N1 is not available yet. If you receive the seasonal influenza vaccine, you must wait four to six weeks before receiving the H1N1 vaccine. Student Health is hopeful it will receive this vaccine when it becomes available.
