Greater Wichita YMCA announced yesterday (Tuesday, April 17) that the Steve and Becky Clark and Ken and Jan Shannon families have each committed $1 million to bring a YMCA to the Wichita State University Innovation Campus. Steve Clark and Ken and Jan Shannon are all graduates of WSU.

"This is one of the largest fundraising efforts the Y has ever taken on, and these are the largest personal gifts we've seen in our Y's history," noted YMCA President and CEO Ronn McMahon. "It's truly humbling to see how committed our supporters are to bringing a Y to the WSU campus."

"The WSU-YMCA partnership represents an exceptional opportunity to deliver additional wellness services to the WSU campus and surrounding neighborhoods," said WSU President John Bardo. "The campus Y will be an important piece of the learn-live-work-play innovation district taking shape in northeast Wichita."
