Reminders, deadlines, events and Shocker Blast
* You are invited to join the School of Nursing as we celebrate the retirement of faculty members Jackie Berryman, Pat Dwyer, Karen Hayes, Pam Martin, Victoria Mosack and Elaine Steinke. All six women will be honored at a reception from noon-2 p.m. today (Friday, May 4) in 300 Ahlberg Hall.
* Accounts Receivable and Cashiers will be closed for staff development from 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. today (Friday, May 4).
* Final grading for spring 2018 courses is now open. Faculty can access the Banner 9 grading form via the Teach / Advise tab in the myWSU portal. Grades for any spring course can be entered during this grading period. Grades are due by 10 p.m. Tuesday, May 15. A grading email with further details was sent to faculty and staff who are flagged as eligible instructors in Banner. Questions about grading can be directed to the Office of the Registrar at 978-3090.
* May is National Physical Fitness month and the Human Performance Lab is offering 50 percent off DEXA scans to all WSU staff and faculty the week of May 7. For $50, you will receive a dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scan, also called a bone density scan. To schedule an appointment, contact Bobby Berry, Human Performance Lab manager, at bobby.berry@wichita.edu.
* During Finals Frenzy Week though Saturday, May 5, Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes is offering $1 cosmic bowling games from 7-10 p.m. each night. Rental shoes are included and it's $1/per person, per game. Offer not valid for advance-group reservations.
