Some university departments are getting calls asking for information about printers and, in turn, trying to sell toner cartridges. The Office of Purchasing reminds you that toner for leased copiers is available at no charge, so don't purchase toner from outside vendors. Toner for printers is available through Central Services.

Some toner vendors are particularly crafty and will make life difficult for anyone in your office who mistakenly agrees to accept an order from this or any similar company.
- You may be asked to pay high restocking fees if you try to return the toner.
- Some will call repeatedly if you refuse to pay.
- Their prices are almost always higher than those available on contract or through the State Use Catalog, even if they "got an extra shipment and are giving it away."
