* Enjoy a free organ concert from 5:30-6:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 7) in Wiedemann Hall with Lynne Davis and "The Great Marcussen Organ."

* The WSU Libraries and the English department will host a double-bill fiction reading at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, on the lower level of Ablah Library. The featured writers are Sloan Davis, MFA Fellow in Fiction, and Margaret Dawe, author of "Nissequott" and associate professor in the English department. Refreshments will be served.

* In 2008, WSU faculty and staff received help from a United Way-funded program 637 times. Recently you should have received information on how you can support United Way during its annual campaign. * The new system Performance Management Process (PMP) evaluates all classified employees annually between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31. If you supervise a classified employee, training classes are now available in October and November. All classified employees regardless of hire date now have a new PMP evaluation due by Dec. 31. * Faculty and staff are encouraged to provide the names and contact information of their high school aged children to admissions by today (Wednesday, Oct. 7) for a program highlighting benefits of a WSU education, scholarship information and more. * A bake sale in honor of Sedgwick County Sheriff Deputy Brian Etheridge, a 2005 graduate from WSU, will be held from 7:30 a.m.-noon today (Wednesday, Oct. 7) and Thursday, Oct. 8, on the first floor of Lindquist Hall. All proceeds will go to the Etheridge family. The bake sale is sponsored by the Criminal Justice Student Association and the School of Community Affairs.
