* Although all tickets are gone for tonight's (Monday, Oct. 12) 7 p.m. lecture by John Stossel, faculty and staff who want to see the lecture are advised to wait in the lobby at the Hughes Metropolitan Complex. If there are empty seats because of no-shows, those without tickets will be permitted into the auditorium or the overflow seating areas.

* A concert by the WSU Concert Band and Jazz Arts Combos will be performed at 7:30 p.m. today (Monday, Oct. 12) in Miller Concert Hall. Call 978-3233 for tickets.

* Student Health doesn't expect to receive its remaining doses of the seasonal flu vaccine until the end of November. However, this could change, so check for updates at the Student Health Web site http://www.wichita.edu/shs.

* An Introduction to Library Research class is planned for students who struggle with library research. The class will meet from 12:30-1:20 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from Oct. 13-Dec. 10. Students will learn about the research process from writing a thesis statement, using the thesis statement to construct a search and how to select appropriate resources. * The WSU Athletic Department will join with the American Cancer Society to "Shock Cancer" before Shocker Madness on Saturday, Oct. 17. You can register as an individual, or create or join a team on the official Web site, http://www.ShockCancerWalk.org. On-site registration also will be available on walk day at 4 p.m. in front of the Shocker ticket office. A $10 fee will be assessed upon registering. Participants who raise $100 will receive a T-shirt commemorating the event.
