"New World of Open Government: Tweeting, Scavenging and Data Mining" will be held from 9-10 a.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 14) in 203 RSC as part of Communication Week activities hosted by the Elliott School of Communication. Many forms of government claim to be more transparent, but walls still go up. How has new technology changed how reporters and citizens can dig a little deeper to find that once-hidden gem? Exclusive results of an ESC audit of government transparency will be revealed. The moderator will be Randy Brown, ESC senior fellow and executive director of the Kansas Sunshine Coalition. Panelists are Pat Dooley, ESC graduate coordinator, and Ron Sylvester, multimedia storyteller for the Wichita Eagle.
