Robots author and NPR editor to make campus visit Nov. 12

What are the robots of the 21st century really like? Who is constructing them? Join author Lee Gutkind as he shares insight into the experience of those who are ushering in a new age of thinking robots with "Almost Human -- Making Robots Think" at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, in 210 McKnight Art Center West (School of Art and Design). Gutkind wrote a 2007 book on the robotics program at Carnegie Mellon University. Admission is free and the galleries will be open from 5-6 p.m. This event is in conjunction with "Robots: A Cultural Icon in Contemporary Art," on view at the Ulrich Museum of Art through Dec. 18.
