Scoring error changes outcome of Kansas BEST game results
Following the correction, please note that the top two teams in the robotics game competition switched places, making Ambassadors for Christ Academy (Bentonville, Ark.) winner of the Game Award and Wichita Home School the second-place finisher. Circle High School was still third and Campus fourth.
The correction did not change which teams qualify for the Frontier Trails BEST regional competition in Fort Smith, Ark., Dec. 4 and 5. Ambassadors for Christ Academy, Wichita Home School, Circle High School and Campus High School will still represent Kansas BEST at the regional event next month.
Wichita Home School won the BEST Award at the 11th annual Kansas BEST event at Wichita State University today (Saturday, Nov. 7).
The BEST Award is based on a project notebook, oral presentation, table display, interviews, and overall spirit and sportsmanship. The Game Award is based on the robot scoring points in the game competition.
The winning teams will each receive a $2,500 stipend toward traveling expenses to compete in the regional competition.
