Library Associates presents E. Haldeman-Julius, controversial publisher and free thinker

Join the WSU Library Associates from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, in Special Collections, lower level of Ablah Library, for a fascinating talk on an influential Kansas publisher. Admission is free. Refreshments will be served. Randy Roberts, curator and Special Collections librarian at Leonard H. Axe Library at Pittsburg State University, will discuss E. Haldeman-Julius: Controversial Publisher and Free Thinker.

Emanuel Haldeman-Julius was a Girard publisher who sought to bring education to the masses through his Big and Little Blue Books series. Selling for 5 cents per title, this pocket series featured reprints of standard literary works along with materials considered so sensational he even risked imprisonment.
