Reminders
* The final presentation in the fall 2009 Anthropology Colloquium Series will be held at 3 p.m. today (Wednesday, Dec. 9) in 117 Neff Hall. Refika Sarionder from the University of Bielefeld will present "Two Faces of Turkish Islam: Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi and Haci Bektas Veli. Encounters, Orders, Politics."
* The Department of Human Performance Studies is holding its Chili Cook-off and Student Appreciation Day from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, in the front lobby of the Heskett Center. The cost is one can of food or a $2 donation and allows you to taste/judge all chili entries. All food and money raised will be donated to local charities.
* Check out "WSU & ISA: 10," an exhibition featuring paintings created by Jodi Lightner, Chiyoko Myose and Jacob Seymore during their artist residencies at the International School of Painting, Drawing and Sculpture in Umbria, Italy. A meet-the-artists reception will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Dec. 9) in Clayton Staples Gallery on the second floor of McKnight Art Center West. Admission is free.
* Operation Holiday is gathering gently worn items for its annual warm clothes holiday project. If you have extra coats, blankets, sweaters, gloves, hats and scarves for adults and children, consider donating them by Friday, Dec. 18. The College of Health Professions classified staff is sponsoring this project on campus. Place donations in the box close to the second floor phones near the elevators in Ahlberg Hall.
* The Student Government Association campus issues committee will take a survey about extending the operating hours of Ablah Library. The survey will be taken from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Dec. 9) in the RSC and Ablah Library.
