* The Office of Multicultural Affairs is planning the second annual MLK Unity Week, Jan. 18-22. If your department or organization plans campus events related to the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr., submit the event for inclusion by today (Friday, Jan. 8) on our MLK Calendar of Events, to patsy.sheffield@wichita.edu or call 978-6187.

* The Media Resources Center will begin offering training on a number of elearning topics, including Blackboard, SafeAssign, Respondus, Tegrity and many more the week of Jan. 11. Visit http://www.wichita.edu/elearning and click on Events Calendar to see the entire training schedule and how to register.

* Many WSU units have international faculty and staff working in H-1B (Specialty Worker) visa status. Acquiring H-1B status will take longer because of the U.S. Department of Labor's centralizing of the Prevailing Wage Determination process. Departments wanting to obtain H-1B status for their faculty or staff must plan for longer processing times. For more information, contact Armin Gerhard at 978-3232 or armin.gerhard@wichita.edu.

* To improve the registration process for all students, WSU will no longer cancel student registrations for non-payment. This change will be effective for the 2010 spring semester. Go to http://wichita.edu/droppolicy.
