Reminders

* The Office of Multicultural Affairs invites you to submit Black History Month events for publication in a Black History Month calendar with campuswide distribution. To be included, events must be submitted by Wednesday, Jan. 20, to patsy.sheffield@wichita.edu.

* Donations of gently used coats, hats and gloves are needed by some of our international students. Drop off your donation at the Social Work Office, 535 Lindquist Hall, or the International Education Building, Garvey International Center, at 17th and Hillside. If you have questions, contact carole.trapp@wichita.edu or sabrina.perezglatt@wichita.edu.

* The Media Resources Center is offering training on a number of elearning topics, including Blackboard, SafeAssign, Respondus, Tegrity and many more starting this week. Visit http://www.wichita.edu/elearning and click on Events Calendar to see the entire training schedule and how to register.

* Many WSU units have international faculty and staff working in H-1B (Specialty Worker) visa status. Acquiring H-1B status will take longer because of the U.S. Department of Labor's centralizing of the Prevailing Wage Determination process. Departments wanting to obtain H-1B status for their faculty or staff must plan for longer processing times. For more information, contact armin.gerhard@wichita.edu or call 978-3232.

* WSU's Counseling and Testing Center is offering a workshop to help high school students prepare for the ACT from 8 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Jan. 16. http://www.wichita.edu/thisis/wsunews/news/?nid=934
