Reminders
* The Office of Multicultural Affairs presents "Vincent Who?," a documentary and discussion with director Curtis Chin at 7 p.m. today (Thursday, Feb. 25) in 208 Hubbard Hall. In 1982, Vincent Chin was murdered in Detroit by two white autoworkers at the height of anti-Japanese sentiments. This documentary asks how far Asian Americans have come since then.
* The Gordon Parks Film Series will feature "Nothing But a Man" at 6 p.m. today (Thursday, Feb. 25) in 210 McKnight Art Center West, WSU School of Art and Design. Reputedly the favorite movie of Malcolm X, "Nothing But a Man" portrays a devil-may-care young man who falls for a grounded young woman and their on-again/off-again relationship.
* Nominations are sought for the Unclassified Professionals President's Award. The deadline for nominations is Friday, Feb. 26. For more information and copy of the nomination form, go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?428.
* Nominations for the President's Distinguished Service award for faculty are due at noon Monday, March 1, in the Office of the Faculty Senate. Nominations may be placed in campus box 111 or dropped off in 002 Morrison Hall.
* The Gamma Xi chapter of Alpha Phi at WSU will hold its fourth annual Viva la Red Cocktail and Casino Night philanthropy event at the Boulevard Banquet Hall, 900 George Washington Blvd., from 7-10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26.
