A driving safety course will be offered from 1-5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, March 15-16, in 210 Heskett Center. The course helps improve driving skills and qualifies for reduction in auto insurance. To register, send a check for $14, AARP members get a $2 discount, and your contact information to the Heskett Center, campus box 126. This course does not involve driving. Attendance is required on both days.

The course points out some strategies that are helpful in driving and decreases the chances of an accident.

Under the laws of the state of Kansas, a person who completes the course is eligible for a discount in car insurance. The discount is good for three years.

According to past students, savings in car insurance ranged from $72 to a maximum of $252. The average was $137.31.

The instructor, a volunteer, is trained and certified by AARP to teach the course.
