* A five-part webinar series, "50 Things Every Department Chair Should Know," begins today (Friday, March 12) from noon-1:30 p.m. in the Media Resources Center.

* Faculty and staff are invited to a reception for Linda Farmer from 2:30-4 p.m. today (Friday, March 12) in the Campus Post Office in Morrison Hall. Farmer is retiring after 47 years of service at Wichita State. The post office will close today at 2 p.m.

* Bo Li of Purdue University will present "The Value of Multi-proxy Reconstruction of Past Climate" at 3 p.m. today (Friday, March 12) in 372 Jabara Hall. The talk is sponsored by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.

* No classes will be held at WSU during Spring Break Monday, March 15, through Sunday, March 21. During that time, most university offices will remain open. Classes will resume Monday, March 22.

* The Wichita State University Foundation will be closed during the university's spring break, March 15-19. We apologize for any inconvenience and will be happy to help you with any of your WSU Foundation needs when we reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, March 22.

* Former Shocker baseball star Kevin Hooper will be the featured speaker in the Distinguished Alumni Speaker Series at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, in the Marcus Welcome Center.
