In 2005, Wichita physician Dr. Donna Sweet established the Humanitarian of the Year Award to recognize people who have made significant contributions in the Wichita community through their leadership, guidance and philanthropic and selfless actions. A longtime WSU student affairs vice president, James Rhatigan, will be honored as the 2010 Humanitarian of the Year in an event beginning at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 3, at the Crown Uptown Dinner Theater.
