Former faculty member dies

Former WSU faculty member A.C. "Tony" Genova, 80, died March 20 at his home. Responsible for creating WSU's philosophy department as an independent academic unit, he was hired as an assistant professor in 1962 and later became professor and the first department chair. He left WSU in 1972 to become chair of the philosophy department at the University of Kansas. An expert on Immanuel Kant, Genova also had a strong interest in transcendental metaphysics.
