There's good news for the College of Education and the Professional Education Unit, which includes the College of Fine Arts and the Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The KSDE/NCATE Board of Examiners site-visit team announced last week that they will recommend that all standards examined during their review of WSU were fully met with no areas for improvement. This report will be examined by the NCATE Unit Accreditation Board in October and the Kansas State Board Education in January 2011, after which a final reaccreditation decision will be announced. This will mark the 54th year of continuous accreditation for the College of Education. A special thanks to our colleagues across campus, P-12 school partners, alumni, candidates/WSU students and other community constituents for their support and for helping us to prepare highly competent, collaborative and reflective professionals.
