Energy Solutions Professionals, an Overland Park-based energy service company, is in the process of installing a new geothermal heating and cooling system at WSU. Crews began drilling the morning of April 8 in the grassy field south of the Brennan parking lot. The geothermal heat pump system will replace the current boiler and window air conditioning units at Brennan II and III, dramatically improving both energy efficiency and occupant comfort within the buildings. The geothermal system works by using the earth's relatively constant temperature to assist in the heating and cooling process. For more information, go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?540.
