Stafford HS band holds memorial concert at site of WSU plane crash

The Stafford High School band took its annual band/senior trip to Denver over the weekend and held a concert at the Colorado memorial for the Wichita State plane crash at the memorial site in the Rocky Mountains on I-70. The idea for the memorial concert came from senior Jordan Hildebrand. The idea was quite a surprise to Steve Gill, band and vocal music teacher, since the students weren't even born when the tragedy occurred. The band also placed a sunflower wreath at the memorial site with the inscription "Gone but Not Forgotten, Stafford Trojans remember the WSU Shockers." Stafford is on Highway 50 west of Hutchinson.
