The holiday closedown period has been approved this year to begin at the end of the day on Wednesday, Dec. 22, and reopen on Monday morning Jan. 3. Classes will not be in session during this period. Unclassified professional and classified staff would normally be scheduled to work Thursday, Dec. 23, and Monday through Thursday, Dec. 27-30. Staff may use accumulated vacation leave or their discretionary day during this five-day period or will be given appropriate work assignments by their supervisor. Please note, the discretionary day must be used by Dec. 23.
Non-exempt staff who work overtime from June 13-Dec. 25, will also be allowed to accumulate compensatory time and use it during the holidays. No additional time should be worked without the knowledge and prior approval of your immediate supervisor.
An employee must be in pay status the entire workday before and the entire workday after state holidays in order to receive holiday credit.
