Trees for Life founder to meet with students, faculty

Balbir Mathur will talk with WSU students and faculty regarding ways of sharing education with developing countries at 1:30 p.m. today (Tuesday, May 18) in 113A Wallace Hall. Mathur will be hosted by the student chapter of Engineers Without Borders.

Balbir Mathur is the founder of Trees for Life, a local nonprofit organization that works with communities in developing countries to help them address education and quality-of-life issues. With nearly three decades of experience, Trees for Life has now developed a solid model that uses technology to foster the sharing of education in these countries.

Currently, Engineers Without Borders-WSU is actively exploring how technology may help learning and education in Honduras. All attending the May 18 event will be apprised of the current project in Honduras, and together we will brainstorm ways to develop the project.
