The College of Fine Arts will have one of the world's leading string groups, the St. Petersburg String Quartet, in residence in the School of Music starting in fall 2010. Alla Aranovskaya, first violin, and Leonid Shukayev, cello, have been hired to fill two open faculty positions in Wichita State's strings program. Aranovskaya and Shukayev are founding members of the quartet, as is Alla Krolevich, second violin, whose position is currently open. Boris Vaynor, viola, rounds out the quartet.
