Nationally, business expectations, along with positive economic indicators, continue to confirm that the U.S. economy is recovering from the current recession. To compare the national outlook to the local outlook, WSU's Center for Economic Development and Business Research conducted a survey of firms in the regional aviation market. The survey indicates that Wichita's aviation industry mimics national markets in regard to companies' profit margins, prices charged for companies' products/services, level of employment and consumer behavior. However, the aviation industry in Wichita may be lagging behind the national industry trend when it comes to demand and credit conditions for businesses and consumers.
