Co-op student sees future in sports broadcasting

Missy Traskowsky loves sports, especially car racing. Traskowsky is a sports broadcasting student in the Elliott School of Communication and a sports intern at KAKE-TV. At KAKE, Traskowsky films and edits sporting events, posts articles to the website and has had the opportunity to record practice broadcasts for her portfolio.

Traskowsky hopes to work for a sports network after finishing her degree. "I would love to work for NASCAR or the SPEED Channel," said Traskowsky. "We covered a car racing event once [at KAKE] and it was the highlight of my internship."

Traskowsky's co-op experience has helped prepare her to enter the broadcasting field. "I've learned a lot about a career in broadcasting and I'm excited for what the future has in store for me."
