W. Eugene Smith is topic of July 21 Senior Wednesday

Photographer Dale Strattman will share anecdotes from the life of W. Eugene Smith during Senior Wednesday (for art enthusiasts 55+) and the contradictions that faced the artist as a premiere 20th-century photographer at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, at the Ulrich Museum. There will be complimentary refreshments at 10 a.m. Admission is free.

A Wichita native and North High graduate, Smith started at The Wichita Eagle before working for LIFE and Newsweek magazines, covering the signature events of the 20th century. Strattman is an adjunct professor in photography in the School of Art and Design at WSU, whose work is included in the Ulrich Museum collection. This event is held in conjunction with the exhibition "Art of Our Time" on view through Aug. 8 at the Ulrich Museum.
