* If you plan to hire student employees or graduate assistants this term, the next offering of Electronic Personnel Action Forms (ePAF) training for student and graduate assistant positions start Monday, Aug. 30. Training details are posted on the Help for Faculty/Staff tab of myWSU. Look for Training Opportunities and select Training/Workshop Registration. To view session dates/times and submit your registration, click on the Register button. If you have questions, call the Office of Human Resources at 978-3065 or Applications Training at 978-5800.

* Kick off the semester at Welcomefest with Carrie Nation and the Speakeasy, a country-blues Dixieland-bluegrass group, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. today (Thursday, Aug. 26) on the east patio of Rhatigan Student Center.

* The Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs invites applications for the position of associate provost for quality assurance and accountability. Individuals interested in applying for the position may do so by following the "Internal Employment Opportunities at WSU" link in the HR channel on the Faculty/Staff tab in myWSU. * A celebration of the 90th anniversary of the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote will be held at 7 p.m. today (Thursday Aug. 26) at Hughes Metropolitan Complex. Among the speakers will be Lily Wu, a former WSU Gore Scholar. Admission is free.

* Faculty and staff are invited to a farewell reception for Lisa Jones, associate general counsel, from 9-11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, in the Morrison Hall Boardroom. Stop by and thank Lisa for her work and wish her well as she takes a new position as Washburn University's new university counsel. Refreshments will be served and there will be brief remarks at 10:30 a.m.

* Employee meetings to discuss the new State of Kansas Group Long Term Care Insurance Program through Genworth Life Insurance Co. will be held at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, in 223 RSC. Enrollment in the program continues through Sept. 30.
