* Effective Oct. 1, the state of Kansas will not issue paper checks for payroll or travel and expense reimbursements; absolutely no exceptions will be made. * Come meet the new director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs, Victor Collins, during an open house from 2-4 p.m. today (Tuesday, Sept. 7) in Grace Wilkie Annex.

* To support this year's Race for the Cure on Sept. 25, university departments and organizations, faculty, staff and students are encouraged to join WSU's team, "Shockers Stroll with Shirley and Don: One Step at a Time for the Cure." * Microsoft Demonstration Day on Wednesday, Sept. 15, will feature a series of workshops offered throughout the day by Microsoft representatives. * AT&T telephone directories for Wichita and the vicinity are available for pick-up by faculty and staff in the hallway of the Jabara Hall basement near Room 027. Please recycle the old telephone books in the recycle bin located by the west dock outside Jabara Hall or the recycle bin north of the Printing Building as soon as possible. Do not leave old phone books in the basement of Jabara Hall.
