Colleagues: Please inform your classes of the paid Washington-Topeka internship opportunities. These are open to students regardless of major and provide nine-12 credit hours for the spring 2011 semester. The information meeting occurs from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, in 417 Lindquist Hall. The internships include weekly seminars featuring prominent persons such as Sen. Bob Dole, top news reporters, a White House aide, a federal judge, top staffers from Health and Human Services, Justice Department, State Department, Department of Education, National Institue of Health, Smithsonian, established lobbyists and a well-known pollster, to name but a few. Prior participants have held internships in many fields of the resource persons experts listed above. This includes a biology major who did research on defoliants while interning for Sen. Roberts.
