Visiting assistant professor of music theory Ellen Burr is leading a multidisciplinary improvisation club. The goal is to bring out inner creativity through "free" improvisation. Using games and other structured events, musicians, dancers, actors, poets, artists and hackers will create a time-based art. This is not comedy or jazz, but comes from the classical avant-garde improvisation scene of the 1970s. You don't have to commit to coming every week. If you are curious, check it out. The day may change depending on interested participants. Open to students, faculty and staff. The next meeting is at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, in the second floor lobby of Duerksen Fine Arts Center. For more information, contact ellen.burr@wichita.edu.
