Reminders

* Words for Wellness -- Peak Performance: The Power of Belief -- will feature a presentation by Greg Buell, associate director of the Counseling and Testing Center, from noon-12:30 p.m. today (Monday, Oct. 4) in 007 RSC. Come receive great tips while enjoying light refreshments.

* A panel discussion "So What? What's at Stake in the Fall 2010 Elections in Kansas?" will be held from noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, in the RSC fireplace lounge. The moderator will be Tim Brown, host and producer for "This Week in Kansas" on KAKE-TV Channel 10.

* Join us for this year's "Nifty Fifties" themed champagne and chocolate event that benefits RiteCare, a program for children's language disorders that is available through WSU's Evelyn Hendren Cassat Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic. Doors open at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at the Scottish Rite Center in downtown Wichita. Tickets are $40 per person or two for $75. Reservations are due Tuesday, Oct. 5. Call 263-4218.

* Student Health will begin administering seasonal flu vaccines today (Monday, Oct. 4) in 209 Ahlberg Hall. The cost is $20 for staff/faculty and $10 for students. If you bring in two canned goods for the Food Bank, Student Health will reduce the price by $5. The vaccine is available 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 8 a.m.-11:30 a.m., 2-4 p.m. Wednesday; and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday except for Oct. 8, when it's 8 a.m.-noon. Gardner, director of research for the Collegiate Employment Research Institute at Michigan State University, will be on campus Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 5-6, for presentations on the transition from college to work, early socialization and career progression in the workplace, workforce readiness and other areas related to college student studies.
