* The Rie Bloomfield Organ Series presents Massimo Nosetti at 7:30 p.m. today (Tuesday, Oct. 19) in Wiedemann Recital Hall. Nosetti is professor of organ and composition at the National Conservatory in Cuneo, Italy, and since 1981 has been titular organist at the Basilica of Santa Rita in Turin. Call 978-3233 for tickets.
* The Department of Chemistry announces the first Molecular Biosciences Lecture of the year. Paul Savage of Brigham Young University will speak on "Design and synthesis of small molecules that mimic and modulate innate immune function" at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, in 224 McKinley.
* The Office of Research Administration will present "Research Payroll Workshop" today (Tuesday, Oct. 19) in two sessions. The first session is from 9-11 a.m., and the second is from 2-4 p.m. in 223 RSC. Faculty and/or departmental staff responsible for processing payroll paperwork supported by sponsored programs should plan to attend. * This is National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week (NCAAW). Stat of the day: 68 percent of WSU students reported drinking alcohol the last time they attended a social event, based on the National Collegiate Health Assessment. By avoiding drinking games at parties, students can reduce their risk of experiencing negative consequences related to drinking. Look for NCAAW programs and events this week in the RSC. * The Media Resources Center will offer two sessions on "Mobile Teach and Learn: Using a Mobile Device in Your Classroom" Thursday, Oct. 21, and Tuesday, Oct. 26.
