* The Department of Chemistry announces the first Molecular Biosciences Lecture of the year. Paul Savage of Brigham Young University will speak on "Design and synthesis of small molecules that mimic and modulate innate immune function" at 3:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 20) in 224 McKinley.
* Fifty percent of WSU students reported drinking alcohol for three or more hours the last time they partied/socialized, based on the National Collegiate Health Assessment. Students who choose to drink can reduce the risk of negative consequences by pacing themselves to one or fewer alcoholic drinks per hour. * The Center for Student Leadership and Office of Multicultural Affairs are partnering to present a campus dialogue on social justice Thursday and Friday, Oct. 21-22. Rev. * Bonnie Bing of The Wichita Eagle presents "Holiday Highlights -- A Fashion Affair" to benefit the African American Faculty and Staff Association scholarship fund at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, in the CAC Theater. WSU students, faculty and staff will be featured models in the show. VIP tickets are $50 and include a pre-show party at 5:30 p.m. Advance tickets are $20 and $25 at the door. * Lambda Alpha, the National Anthropology Honor Society, is holding a winter clothing drive through October to benefit United Methodist Open Door's Klothes Kloset. Donation boxes are in Neff Hall and the RSC. All clean clothing in good condition will be accepted, especially coats, jeans, gloves, hats, sweaters, etc.
