The Office of Research Administration will present a workshop, "Proposal and Budget Preparation," from 10 a.m.-noon Friday, Nov. 5, in 314 RSC. Participants will discuss challenges encountered in developing budgets and related topics including direct costs, facilities and administrative costs, purchasing general and special purpose equipment and supplies, personnel and contracting services. Participants will better understand what expenses are allowable and unallowable for a grant, contract or cooperative agreement and where to obtain additional information for accurately projecting costs. The principles of cost sharing, subcontracting and matching funds will also be introduced.
